In Barrio Gothic is an international bar, centrally located behind
Plaza Reial. Opened last summer by long-time British expats Con and
Matt, it has a friendly, funky atmosphere where locals, resident
expats and in-the-know tourists raise a glass to new and old friends
and Barcelona nights. This isn't an Irish bar that caters
to just tourists - english and spanish (and swedish and italian and
norwegian and french...) are spoken here. Don't expect to find any
big screen televisions for the next football match. The tone is set
by the red and yellow walls, the muted red lighting and the mirrored
bar. The friendly regulars will gladly share a pint or a cocktail
with you and point out the inside secrets to Barcelona. Jump start
your night during the 8pm to 10:00pm happy hour, when long drinks are
just two euros. International DJs spin the best in funk, soul,
reggae, R&B and the occasional indie hit Thursdays through Sundays.
Just look for the red bar conveniently located off Calle Ferran at
Calle Rauric 21. You can contact us at sugar@sugarbarcelona.com
